How do I choose the right parts?
You need to replace your scissor lift parts if your machine suddenly does not operate at its peak. If you are having trouble extending, locking, or otherwise operating the platform, driving the lift, or holding it steady during operation, immediately replace the dysfunctional or damaged parts.

What components make up a scissor lift?
A scissor lift is composed of five main parts, which work together to raise and lower the platform and the workers, equipment, or materials on it.
Platform
Also called a lift table, the platform is the part of the scissor lift you raise and lower. It can transport equipment and materials or humans (although platforms without railings are not recommended for human transportation). Platforms can come in a variety of shapes and sizes based on the lift’s brand and model.
Scissor Legs
The legs of the scissor lift attach the platform to the base. The legs’ operation allows you to raise and lower the platform cue, controlling the lift’s elevation.
Cylinder
Most scissor lifts come with between one and four cylinders, which are designed to aid in elevation changes. Depending on the type of lift, the cylinders could be filled with anything from hydraulic fluid to compressed air.
Base
The base of the lift is perhaps the most important component as it is the lift’s foundation. It ensures the lift is stable and contains the tracks that the legs operate in to allow smooth operation. The base, like the platform, can come in a variety of shapes and sizes, depending on the lift.
Power Source
There are four main types of power sources for standard scissor lifts: diesel, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric. Each has a specific benefit pertaining to the overall strength and availability of electricity. Diesel is more appropriate outdoors or in well-ventilated areas, whereas other sources are more easily used indoors.
Aftermarket vs OEM scissor lift parts
When replacing your wear parts, you can either opt for aftermarket or OEM components. The benefit of aftermarket parts is they are more affordable than OEM options and are often much easier to find. OEM components can occasionally be difficult to procure.
