There are many forms of Hydraulic Cylinders found on heavy equipment. From lifting a telescopic mast on a forklift to hoisting an aerial basket, you can find all of your hydraulic cylinder options both new, used and refurb here on Gearflow.
These devices are a cylindrical hollow tube, which contain an internal solid cylindrical tube called a rod or piston which reciprocates inside the outer tube. Hydraulic fluid is filled and pressurized between these two components. Caps, Seals and Wipers are fitted on the ends to eliminate leaks, sediment contamination and metal to metal contact.
When in operation they create a push and pull pressurized movement which allow the internal rod or piston to extend or retract under load. Hydraulic cylinders are made up of four major types: Single Acting (Manual), Double Acting (Hydraulic), Telescopic (cylinder within a cylinder) or Jack (Hand pump activated).
